Unfortunately, those multiple sources do not provide any data on a heterocyst-forming ability of Candidatus Synechococcus spongiarum SH4.

Yes ,you are right, I sent the latest articles  just to confirm that until today, no prove by any researcher

Everybody knows that unicellular Synechococcus of any origin is not capable to generate specialized cells like heterocysts. This property is the unique one for so called Heterocystous  group (IV) of  multicellular  cyanobacteria
