Is calcium carbide safe to use in a muffle furnace at elevated temperature under inert atmosphere?

Calcium carbide used as oxygen scavengers. Can we used it in muffle furnace at high temperature? If we heat it in furnace at about 1100 degree Celsius temperature than is it stable at that point? What products are expected to produce?
