Great question. A small correction, Publons has more than 300,000 reviewers. To date, nearly 400,000 reviews have been published. I like Publons because it offers a platform for recognition for peer reviewers. Above all, Publons offers training for reviewers through its Publons Academy.
Well, this is my first time of hearing about Publons. I try it and get back. But what is the difference between Publons and RG?
It is interesting concern - how does the being the reviewer brings value for you? It is really nice idea (realized by Publons) to give more recognition to people who provides their time, attention and knowledge for the purpose of better scientific publishing.
But it is still open question - what are the benefits of being the reviewer, while the authority of scientists and impact to the field is measured by articles you publish and number of citations?
P.s. Currently going thru Publons Academy - found it as a really good exercise and skill building tool to improve the writing to.

Peer reviewing is anonymous in ,most journals, so it could not provide more recognition, but it is a useful addition to one's CV when he writes there that he is a reviewer of several journals.
Both beiing a reviewerc and the Publons system do not add much to a career. But, as said alreday by Avishag, it will be part of your CV.
