I am conducting a project looking into the effect of the pandemic on academic productivity among university faculty. Are there any well known inventories/ instruments with good validity and reliability in relevant literature among educationists? Ideally searching for instruments that have been validated in South Asia but even otherwise, any related citation or questionnaire can help. Thanks in advance.
If research has a direct impact on everyday life (e.g. in medicine and technology), useful productivity measures can certainly be developed. However, the more the academic work affects the area of basic research, the more the approaches of a purely productivity-oriented analysis fail. The insights from such research may yield real returns in the distant future - or perhaps never, because they were based on errors that are currently undetectable.
Professor Petersen please give concrete examples. I tried to do this for promotion/tenure decisions for about 30 years and could never get anyone else that would even read the papers. Best wishes David Booth
