I'm a Molecular Biologist with an MS in Recombinant DNA Technology. I'm trying to get funding for proof-of-concept experimentation to validate the mechanism of an FIV-based vector for delivering therapeutic genetic material to combat viruses like HIV. I've written three grant applications, and, although the scores trended upwards with experience, I was unsuccessful at securing funding. In discussion with the Program Officer at the NIH, I was advised to seek out a senior researcher who might be willing to enter into a mentoring relationship to help with the grant composition.
Any direction welcome.
