In our University we are currently forming interdisciplinary clusters in order to propose research ideas and projects related to social inclusion and urban renewal. Many local authorities now prefer to support projects aiming at well being of either people with condition or carers living and interacting in more friendly and welcoming environments rather than hospices, etc. Our intent is to insert arts in the new environments and plan for comfort and frustration-free activities. In our city we have got an organisation who have already started using performance during special events. However we should like to find out if an integrated system of arts and healing processes could be a feasible solution in self-organised and fully inclusive neighbourhoods. Are there any relevant case studies worldwide with which we can interact in order to build up our own case studies or projects in East Midlands, UK? Would it be possible for us to form an international network with other international partners? I shall welcome your responses on any of the matters which I have exposed here.
Variables that could be effective: (1). The age of the residents, refer to their era of youth and nostalgia of outdoor-activity, based on each local popular culture. (2). Level of health and mobility of residence, related to the level of their physical abilities for outdoor activity versus our modern style of entertainment & urban design (3). Accessibility of proper food & transportation, based on their age and need of possible healthcare facilities, close-by.

Last time I had contact was in 2014.
I know there is some research on Alzheimer's and aging and the benefits of arts in their wellbeing. Academically that is one place to look at the success of it. I am not totally aware of any case studies, but you can email and ask some communes. you could try these references. I've just started working with real estates and property managers so slightly different area. I also know that the last round of Churchill Fellowships awarded one to an Architect from Tasmania who was looking at aging and dementia. So perhaps you could follow that up?

There is research in the Netherlands about the built environment for people with dementia. You will find relevant information on the website of Henri Snel (Head of Inter-Architecture and lecturer research at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy Amsterdam). I have been in contact with him in 2013.
