I doubt that Iohexol is approved for sc. injection.
In any case, considering the potential harm of administration of iodinated x-ray contrast media (including, but not limited to, the risk of contrast-induced acute kidney injury) I would suggest to measure GFR by other means, i.e., clearance of creatinine or of inulin.
s.c. injection may have problems because of slow absorption and distribution. Maybe I.P. would be simpler. Test it against Creatinine clearance and see.
Maximilian Posch, if you are interested in using iohexol to measure GFR in an ambulatory setting you should look at the following references, which describe how clearance can be measured as dried blood spots on filter paper. You would still need to inject iohexol intravenously though.
