A hyperactive state of the inner ear explains many of the symptoms of migraine (audiosensitivity/phonophobia, dizziness, head pressure, nausea, aura, Meniere syndrome, etc).  Could peripheral vestibular dysfunction also cause allodynia here and in other conditions?  Allodynia has been alleviated by caloric stimulation (running water at certain temperatures into the ear canal).
