it depends on the cell you intend to grow... For yeast, 0.1% is not enough in minimal medium (it should be at least 0.4%). For bacteria like E. coli, 0.1% is the concentration of ammonium chloride in M9 medium.
Hi, as Dominique has already said, yeast are a bit more demanding when it comes to the choice of medium and growth conditions. I assume it's down to the fact yeast are Eucaryote.
