You can grow some Iron reducing bacteria under micro aerophilic conditions e.g., in anaerobic prepared media without the addition of a reducing agent to remove the remaining oxygen.

You likely won't find iron reducing bacteria in aerobic environment samples because they are out-competed by aerobic bacteria. If they are facultative  they will switch to aerobic metabolism in the presence of oxygen because it is more energy efficient.

If I remember well his team found conditions (circa 2012-2013) allowing  a Geobacter strain to reduce Fe3+ in the presence of O2. IB
