I received an invitation to review a manuscript by Zoya Ansari, claiming to be the Editorial Manager for this journal, who seem to have my personal work details as well. A quick search in google made me wonder if this email is legit as the IF in the email differed from the website. This is the email address :[email protected]
Does anyone else have a similar experience? I am wondering if I should accept their invitation to review.
For just the reason that the IF in the email is different to their website should not be the only reason to be suspicious. One of the journals I publish in and read a lot, what they say on their website for IF is from 2018 and it looks like they just haven't updated it yet.
I, personally, get a lot of invitations from journals I haven't heard of - to review. Generally, I would think I should check Pubmed (or whatever standard you consider appropriate) - sounds like you already did some checking with Google.

Be aware. There seems to be something odd going on. The thing is that your request does not seem to come from the legit publisher Bentham. See also the numerous replies in the following discussion: https://www.researchgate.net/post/Bentham_Science_Publishers where false invitations come from addresses like …@editorial-peer-review.net and [email protected] these mail addresses just like yours have nothing to do with Bentham Science their official contact always end with [email protected]
Even stronger if you Google “currentmedicinalchemistry.org” it renders a rather vague looking website and if click towards https://www.currentmedicinalchemistry.org/instructions-for-authors.php it is on crucial points different from the real one https://benthamscience.com/journals/current-medicinal-chemistry/author-guidelines/ in the what I believe to be the fake one all references towards …@benthamscience.net are replaced by the ‘hijacked’ one.
I am pretty sure that they have no connection with Bentham and assume that the people (or person) behind such mails (with peer-review-net etc.) try to act as some kind of third-party company that ‘will provide services' (for a certain amount of money of course…) or even worse pretend to be the legit one.
So, avoid. It would be interesting if you ask Bentham whether they can confirm my estimates by trying to get in touch with the real journal/publisher.

PS. The impact factor of 4.53 mentioned here https://benthamscience.com/journals/current-medicinal-chemistry/ is the correct one. What impact factor was mentioned in the mail?
