§ Brief Scope: Through the special issue, we aim to bring the latest research advances in several indispensable aspects for better understanding the physics behind and effectively managing underground hydrogen storage processes. It can include but is not limited to advanced modeling solutions to understand the inherent fundamental physics, relevant artificial intelligence applications, risk management, effective monitoring technologies for observation data, and efficient and intelligent reservoir management workflows for such processes.
