2023 ideas on stating general system-stability theory using “independent and dependent variable responsibility” thinking: recent work frames system stability not simply as an outcome of equations but as a responsibility mapping — i.e., identifying which variables (actors, policies, markets) are causally responsible for maintaining or undermining stability, then structuring models so independent variables carry explicit “responsibility weights” that determine intervention priorities; this lets stability analysis drive policy design by showing which levers (independent variables) must be held accountable to secure desirable dependent outcomes.
