I am interested in the area of artificial insect diets for rearing. Particularly diets that can be manufactured and commercialised. Does anyone have expertise in this area or can comment on the future prospects and trends for artificial insect diets ?

With the well known McMorran artificial diet (or with slightly modified similar diets) have been reared successfully many insects (mainly Lepidoptera, but also Coleoptera, Orthoptera, ..). The success of this diet is associated with the use of wheat germ and linseed oil as ingredients. Please check the following useful link.
