Greetings everyone,
We are looking for a handy and fast cell counter (ideally handheld) to replace the hemocytometer as it is time-consuming. We do not require extensive cell population profiling for physiological studies but a routine, quick cell count to be able to determine the optimal time for Sf9 insect cell infection for the purpose of protein production. The handheld cytometer I found is so-called Scepter, but as we just deal with the rough estimates, we are not going for a 4k device seen here: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/technical-documents/articles/biology/scepter-cell-counter-performance.html
The device should be able to work with bacterial cells (similar to spectrophotometer) to determine the OD600 of the bacterial culture, but the emphasis is on the need for the Sf9 cell counting. Size distribution histogram and fluorescence capabilities are of secondary importance.
Please, if you have any leads on a device fitting the description above, it would be nice if you could share that with me.
Thank you in advance.
