Personally I think rice husk biochar (often alkaline) could be used on acidic Acrisols (upland areas) , sandy soils, basaltic soils in high-terraced areas (also acidic), acid suphate soils (coastal areas; under mangroves) ?

Rice husk biochar has little acid neutralising ability because it contains lots of Si and little Ca etc

in acid soils we can use as amendment to increase the soil pH and also in sandy soils as soil conditioner to increase nutrient and water retention capacity.
