All cells, microbial or not, could produce protease. The difference is the types and quantities of the protease. And microbes may only provide some useful one, whilst the others may need to be derived from other organism and/or be genetically transferred into microbes for production. Since there is no general answer to this question, you need to clarify which type of protease you want. And then someone may be able to help you with his expertise.
