It is my understanding that in polymers, modulating allows you to be more precise in determining both endothermic and exothermic events than when doing DSC without modulation. But because the heating is slow in modulation, you lose information on events such as glass transitions, but gain information on melting temperatures, recrystallisation, curing or other events.

I have looked for literature on this, but it is not clear and I would like to know your point of view and if I am wrong.
