It is my understanding that in polymers, modulating allows you to be more precise in determining both endothermic and exothermic events than when doing DSC without modulation. But because the heating is slow in modulation, you lose information on events such as glass transitions, but gain information on melting temperatures, recrystallisation, curing or other events.
I have looked for literature on this, but it is not clear and I would like to know your point of view and if I am wrong.

Dear Juan Fernando Hernandez, the simplest way is to do both, slow and fast modes, along with another testing tool such as DMA to get a broad understanding of all transitions. My Regards

MDSC includes both the thermal and kinetic transitions. It provides you additional information about glass transition and specific heat capacity. It will also provide you the information which the standard DSC provides. It can be seen as an advanced version of conventional DSC. If you need information on the kinetic components also, then you can carry out the modulated DSC else DSC will be better.
