In the UK, many HR people have been really busy negotiating and working through the implications for employees (and companies/organisations) of new laws/regulations relating to Covid-19.
If this wasn't enough to keep them busy, they've also had to adapt to new ways of working themselves in many cases.
Should they be responsible for workforce planning (in larger organisations mostly) then this role will have become even more problematic, as the future 'post-Covid' operating environment is still emerging.
Not sure if this is helpful, but these are my experiences.
Masud, the impacts that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the way organisations and businesses operate are wide ranging. Among these include having to adopt, implement, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of COVID-19 related practices in a wide range of sectors/industries and companies. These include, for example, the adoption of greater risk management practices, homeworking and the extent of its effectiveness in meeting emerging and changing organisational goals and objectives, the adoption of greater support mechanisms for staff and managers who may have had additional work or using new forms of working (e.g. new technologies), meeting additional resource (e.g. people's and financial availability) challenges. HR professionals have had to incorporate these new ways of working over and above all the other people management practices they were already trying to implement and monitor before the pandemic hit. Interesting times....
