In out domestic refrigerator suction line of the compressor & capillary tube are lap together but in case of domestic room air conditioner, suction line of the compressor & capillary tube stay in separate position.
May be because of the type of the condensers, the refrigerator condenser is a natural convection air-cooled condenser , while the A/C condenser is a forced convection air-cooled condenser.
Suction and capillary over lap or capillary insert into the suction line is due heat exchange reason, as capillary are hotter (as end of the Condenser) and suction line is colder (after evaporator out), capillary need to become colder to become liquid phase (100%) and the heat is use to super heat the refrigerant (100% vapor) so that no liquid refrigerant may not enter into the compressor. but in AC there are forced convection condenser, thats why no need to overlap.
