In the bending fatigue test of flat beam , we depend on the modulus of elasticity , the question is on which modulus of elasticity we choose? , On the output of tensile test or output of bending test ?
As in all type of bending moment equation EI is present. Here E is the Young's modulus and this is obtained by tensile testing within elastic limit (i.e. stress/strain).
Dear Kadhim, in result of fatigue test, you should find the correspondence between stress magnitude and number of cycles to design the Wohler curve. Stresses in bending are not dependent on material mechanical properties, but only by bending moment in the portion of pure bending and sectional modulus of the cross-section
The main purpose of fatigue test is to build the relationship between cycles of failure and the true stress or strain (fatigue loads) at failure location. Depending on what kind of load control method you used in the test, the way to obtain fatigue load will be much different. Only for high cycle fatigue with displacement or load control test, Young's modulus is the only option.
