I have noticed this recently as also seen similar concerns expressed by a few other members. Is it not common courtesy for the project owner to ask for permission first before adding other RG members as co-collaborators? Do not just assume that someone else may be interested in collaborating unless you ascertain this first by asking and receiving permission.
Whosoever is added to a project under RG is supposed to be well aware of the goal and work carried out in that project. So, simply adding a name without any interaction and without obtaining any consent is a fruitless exercise.
It is difficult to understand why it is done, if it is being done.
