I am seeing two types of eggs in freshwater fishes. Some of the fishes hv adhesive eggs while some of the fishes don't hv adhesive egg for example in case of Catla, Rohu, Mrigal non adhesive eggs and in case of Magur,Gold fish,Common a carp hv adhesive eggs...So.Why the fish eggs are adhesive in nature...Or what is the reason behind the adhesiveness of the fish eggs?
egg attachment mode could well be
related to these environmental conditions, ex.turbity, nature of the soil and stons that present in sea, R and La.,.....ect.
Iet say in case of freshwater environment,if we provide same environment to these both catagories of egg laying fishes ,then those fishes which gives adhesive egg..May changed to non-adhesive....But it is not happened....@Karwan sir
It is according to the place of spawning and the level of parental care. For example, common carp lays the adhesive eggs to can stick on the aquatic weeds, while Nile tilapia is a mouth brooder which incubate her eggs inside the buccal cavity, so its eggs are non-adhesive. The purpose of laying the adhesive eggs is to let the eggs stick on objects (weed, stones.....) or to each other.
