Now a day in many countries, the rain intensities are continuous records, like tipping bucket gauges, also by radar, etc, finally there is no standard time to record rain intensity.

Actually my question is about the daily rainfall. I am going to compare the measured data with satellite. The satellite Time is base on GMT but the measurement is base on local time, and there is a difference between them.

In this case it is so difficult to compare, because the difference between them originated to lag time.

Although it seems that recording the daily precipitation (or calculating that from hourly data) should be match with GMT. But I think the recording time of daily precipitation is different, depending on the local time in the countries.

Also, there is a difference between the gauge recording time and satellite data that relies on the local time, too. So, matching the gauge and satellite data is very hard in daily time scale. It maybe needs to hourly data.
