As I have read, in cyclic voltammetry, Working and counter electrode should be of different materials. WE as glassy carbon and CE as platinium.
What is wrong with using two gold electrodes? Are the results not as promising as using Pt and glassy carbon?

My electrodes are all ENIG (Electroless Nickel immersed gold), in both 2 electrode and 3 electrode setups. But I was not sure if it is fine to have electrodes of the same material, or they necessarily should be different? (For instance, WE from Gold and other two, CE and WE, electrodes from Pt)? Au is a soft metal and having other thermodynamic parameter lower than platinum, like step formation energy, dissolution energy in solvents. Etching of electrode in acidic solvent with cycling or long time electrochemical experiments will cause error in experiments. We can use Au with care depending on particular experiments while platinum can be used more frequently and comparatively more number of times.

"As I have read, in cyclic voltammetry," You have to provide the reference. Use the standard 3 electrode configuration. to collect CV data. The CV is strongly dependent on the nature of WE, but it can't be ruled out that it depends on the nature of the counter electrode. Just try different counter electrodes and see what happens.
