I am a kind of confused about the XRD pattern obtained for a solid solution. If we have a vacancy of 50% on one Wyckoff position, it means other 50% are occupied. In that case, we should see a split of peaks but we don't see. Why is it the case? Same could apply if some %age of a small atom is replaced by a larger atom.

1. Structural phase transitions or
2. Systematic absentia.
