It was not reviewed by my supervisor. Actually, I did not do it extensively but punctually. For instance, in the literature review, I did a critical review of previous literature while outlining at some moments how I could contribute to theory.
I would definitely talk to the coordinator or a potential adviser, if you can, to see what kind of format they want. I am partial to the "Call to Research" format that I've been developing for a while: Preprint Call to Research: A need for a new paper format
. As I mention in the paper, you would probably want a literature review that's narrow enough as to not get in the way of the proposal, but detailed enough to explain why the research should be done.
