Using techniques like laser shock peening and particle shot peening, residual stresses at the surface can be taken care of. But how is it possible to cure internal residual stresses within core of components?
I think, All peening method operates for getting compressive residual stresses, not removing.
Also You could check normalising anneals, If you need little amount of residual stress in the inner part.
Have a good work.
