Traditionally the imposed force loading was considered in the design of structures subjected to earthquake or cyclic loading but recently the imposed displacement loading method is welcomed and is used more in the designs as a modern approach since by applying it, it is possible to pass the peak of the curve of load-deflection response. When I was modelling numerically the behavior of RC structural members I realized that considering the imposed strain loading on the maximum compression point of the critical section of the RC structural members is very convenient to be applied in the design of structures subjected to earthquake because apply the imposed strain at that point as a conducting criteria lets the one passes the peak and inflection points of the response curve without any problem and always the conversion in finding the equilibrium state on the sections are guaranteed.
