If you have a time machine and a machine capable of putting any object in any position (including position changes in protons and electrons in processes such as oxidation, combustion, etc.) with a perfect memory register. How would you distinguish one from the other?
Both the machines have the same propertied and capabilities. Then, I think they are almost similar.
Dear Sergio, machine of time is not technical construction. All people are machines of time, because every is strongly individual machine. Every man is manifestation (materialization) of non-material energy of time. Every man transforms every moment energy of the own time to the different material manifestations, which creates different events. Every man possesses individual way, he cannot create any arbitrary events everywhere: he goes only along the own way. Our leaving ways correspond to our energetic (diapason of the own time), therefore we can change our life by the condition that our consciousness will be another.
There is a lot of evidence saying you can't build a time machine, in the sense that one cannot travel into the past, so I guess this is an academic question. Evidence that I know of comes from classical relativity and string theory, but there may be more fields of physics hinting at the same impossibility.
My intention with this question was to show that time and space are really indistinguishable, our way of measuring time is always a movement in a dimension "perpendicular" to another movement in another "simulated" dimension (either in a clock-sand, the needle or the changes of digits of a clock, etc).
With what the time could be anything that moved "perpendicular" to our 3 dimensions.
In the case of the transitions of energy in the atomic clocks, I suspect, as you can glimpse in my work, that there if we are measuring directly in that dimension.
Sergio, keep in mind that space and time do not stand on the same footing. Space has positive metric signature, whereas time has negative signature. That makes a lot of a difference.

I'm going to try to answer you using "standard" relativity (in my relativity the answers are similar)
- The fields in relativity do not exist (and probably not in nature), as electromagnetic forces and gravity forces are caused by curvatures in space-time (in my relativity, gravity looks much better).
- There is no frame of reference 0, both the mass and the rule and the time you comment is always with respect to another. A very simple example, I move with v respect to a rock (the rock is the fixed observer), but the rotation of the earth is just v in the opposite direction (now I am the fixed observer, it is the rock that moves), but the earth around the solar system moves with a speed ... etc, etc...
