There are people who do not understand the meaning of group work and their idea of being the best without respecting other colleagues and their ego makes many mistakes, but the truth in my personal opinion, working in a group is the best.
Agreed with Christopher J Graham... Team work is more important. People always cite First Author et al as reference.. and as per format of all journal corresponding author is never highlighted.. So in my opinion it's first author

For authors, the first name is mentioned more compared to others. If we refer to the list of sources in books and research, mention the name of the first researcher and others in the items of search or book (first name & et al.). In the work of scientific promotion committees, the first name gives the highest degree of evaluation compared to others.
I also think the first author should be remembered more. That's why it is named as the corresponding author.
If there are only two authors of an article, then they are remembered equally. For other cases though the role of corresponding author is important, it is first author who is remembered more..agree with Christopher J Graham
