Human nature is fascinating because even as infants, we instinctively use our senses without being taught. From an early age, we begin to recognize what feels right or wrong, suggesting that we may already be embedded with some form of innate knowledge.
Children don't start with a complete understanding of good and evil, but they aren't a blank slate either. The ability to distinguish between right and wrong develops through a combination of innate dispositions and social and environmental factors. This is a central debate in philosophy and psychology, often framed as nativism versus empiricism
Nobody is born knowing good and evil but what we know as good and evil is learnt through socialization, culture and experience. Our views on what is considered right and wrong are constructed by parents, society and moral enlightenments which we rationalize or make our own.
Has anyone ever provided evidence that we are born without knowledge?
We develop over nine months and learn a lot from our environment including the variability of our mother's emotions. After that have you watched a developing child and how quickly they adapt to the world around them?
In addition, of course, is the possibility that we have stored knowledge from previous lives or from our ancestors.
