I am currently modeling a ten-story steel bending frame in Etbas.
Given that I want to create the nonlinear hinge in the beams, can I ignore define a nonlinear hinge for the columns?
Or do I have to define a plastic hinge for both the beams and the columns?

Unless you're carrying out pushover analysis, there is no need to define plastic hinges for a typical simulation of a building for construction purposes.
Otherwise is the case if your study is research-based.

I have to do dynamic analysis.
and I defined nonlinear hinges both for columns and beams on steel moment frame.
But no matter how much we increased the intensity of the incoming earthquake, the joint did not form in the members.
I want to know that am I permitted to define nonlinear hinges just for beams instead of both of them Given that I want to have hinges only in the beams?
