Part of a doctoral thesis unpacking Bourdieu's explanations of behaviours that researchers would describe as part of the 'professional' behaviour set: commitment, public service, a desire for self-regulation, autonomy.
Whilst experience has been related to professionalism and 'being professional', it is not restricted to experience. Newcomers to 'professions' or other types of work may still rate high on professionalism. How this does or does not relate to public service is of particular interest to me. and especially through a Bourdieusian lens. Any thoughts?
