A 20MnCr5 component meant for wear resistant application not heat treated but coated with some material which have hardness in the range of 480-500HV. We need to know the type of treatment for reverse engineering purpose. The Xrf analysis indicates the presence of Ni,pb and Al. Can any one elaborate on this?
Too little information. You need to prepare a cross section of coated sample and have the layer examined by SEM/EDS. If there are good pictures, identification of the coating would be much more likely.

Ni=4.10
Mo=0.03
Pb=0.08

In my opinion, it is either a nickel plating or chemically nickel. In the case of chemically nickel, actually, there should still be phosphorous in it. With galvanic nickel there are different variants. Molybdenum and lead are impurities in the layer. Since the cut was etched, I can not say more.

I recommend for you to perform a X-Ray diffraction on surface. Probably is a nickel-base coating with this thickness and hardness, but your EDS analysis is doubt for while. X-ray will prove the phases on coating, more useful. Good luck.
It is very likely that it is chemically nickel (Ni-P) because there is a dark phase in the layer. However, it is not quite sure because you could not analyze phosphorus.
Pure galvanic nickel would be more metallic (bright in the picture). It can, of course, be a galvanic nickel with a mineral filling.
