I am involved in a bovine study where we are using OPU to collect dominant follicular fluid. I have been getting some blood with the follicular fluid. We are using a long needle and a syringe to aspirate. I have the ovary pressed up against the vaginal walk. As soon as I punture the vaginal wall I puncture the follicle and aspirate. Does anyone have an idea why I may be getting blood in my sample.

All previous studies I have done OPU blood in the sample was not a concern. Thank you in advance!
