Suggest starting with articles on the Management Theory Jungle by Harold Koontz in Academy of Management Journal (1961) and Academy of Management Review (1980).

Have you looked at Gibson Burrell and Gareth Morgan's book 'Sociological Paradigms and Organizational Analysis'? Its old, but excellent, and there is a huge amount of work on its classification of management theories in the last thirty years.

If you want something concise and accessible, M.S. Sridhar provides this historical perspective on the schools of management thought.
