I'm currently working with several Hyaluronan molecular weights and the interaction between these sizes and the HA receptors. Is there any predisposition of the receptors to interact more with a specific size?
The minimum length of HA to bind CD44 is considered to be hexasaccharide since it is long enough to compete with native HA. However, stronger binding is obtained if HA is longer and can bind two or more CD44 molecules on cell surface
