I am currently in the process of writing my thesis, and I decided that the theme would be an integration between intangible cultural heritage and films/audiovisuals, I am still a bit lost and also there is a limitation of resources, especially that the information available that are related to the memory of the world and UNESCO are also limited.

Yes. Films can be a very integral part of cultural heritage. Many countries including India have a central body like National Film Archive of India and National Film Archive of Japan. These bodies not only promote films but also curate and archive as a future culture reference.
It depends on wherher you will study the films theirselves as a cultural heritage, which should be confirmed five decades after the death of the filmmaker (according to the Tunisian law, which May differ from one country to another so u should look for it according to your homeland case of law)
Or as a means of representation and safeguarding of material (archeological sites or moorish houses or inherited constructions on which shooting May take place)and immaterial cultural heritage(tradional clothes worn by charachters and/or rituals and habits they May represent, and which depends from the narrative construction of a movie to another) of the filmmaker's homeland (and this is the theme of my PhD on which i'm still working since 2016 and that i am about to defend nearly)
Some key references that you should construct your knowledge background from it figures in the international cultural heritage conventions of UNESCO which are yearly signed by countries members (since 78 for material and natural ones, and since 2003 for immaterial ones) in addition to the appropriate law of your homeland

as long as movies are pieces of art, and are representative of their time and age, then they can be considered intangible heritage. sometimes even people relate their memories to a movie or a song. also, if the movie is being filmed in real-life locations, it can act like a visual documentary of the urban fabric of its time.
I use film extensively in my teaching. The CCC act provides clearance for films in education for my university. To address your specific question: yes film is part of cultural heritage. I utilize the the following elements in introducing film in classroom: 1)Director/Producer; 2) When was the film made (discussing social circumstances of the times for example the Cold War; 3) Who 'wrote' the book, story or screenplay for the film, what was their agenda and how does that agenda influence the story the film tells.
All of these work together to tell a story based on the elements that influenced the Film maker: for example Oliver Stone made several films about the VietNam War period that were obviously influenced by his own experiences. What do they tell us about the world at the time of the war?
