Rodrigo, you can verify the method that I used in my dissertation, an analytical method with low cost. However if you desire more accuracy, you should make the determination on an autoanalyzer elemental carbon, UFSM have one that is widely used in soil researches.
Unhapply I haven't a TOC analyzer. I did these experiments using the ignition method proposed by Schulte and Hopkins (1996) and an analytical method in the Vogelmann's thesis that use K2Cr2O7 and Fe(NH4)(SO4)26H2O.
