So, for example, I have official numbers for the number of custodial penalties handed down to Indigenous and Non-Indigenous people for a specific crime:

Indigenous Non-Indigenous

Prison 28 60

ICO 0 2

PSS 0 1

I have been advised to use Pearson's Chi Sq and then to put my findings into a mosaic plot; however I am confused as to the use of the Chi Sq when I do not have an expected vs Actual data set and the mosaic plots don't show what my data says e.g., from this datat the mosaic might show the Indigenous prison section as being larger than the Non-Indigenous prison section, which doesn't follow the proprortions/percentages or data.

P.s., I am very, very new to stats (was hoping for a qualitative only phd, but hasn't worked out that way) and am also numerically dyslexic.

Any advice, guidance in plain English would be gratefully received.

P.P.S - I am working in RStudio
