We have environmental samples and we are making tryptone soya agar for the screening of bacteria, and we don't fungus to grow, but we don't know the right concentration of the antifungal we have.
We have Nalidixic acid, Medofulvin, Mycosat, mycoril
can we use them together? and if we can, what's the right concentration of each one of them to put in the ager?

Hi!
I have never used any of these antifungals, but I have already done bacterial screening and used the malachite green in the medium to inhibit fast growing fungi.

A safer alternative is to increase the alkalinity of the medium either by adding lime "Ca(OH)2" or other alkaline substances. This will inhibit fungal growth drastically & increase bacterial growth in the samples
