The synthesis of ammonia is one of the best researched processes from the kinetic point of view. There is no problem accessing the kinetic equation along with the parameters in Google.

Personally, I would start by balancing the process, e.g. in a reactor with cold gas injection or in an autothermal reactor, and solve the obtained equations using Fortran procedures. Aspen is a black box, but an irreplaceable database of the physical and chemical properties of various compounds.

The ASPEN PLUS software in its latest versions has updated its library of kinetic laws, however only the equations have been loaded but not the kinetic parameters. In fact, one of the major problems that a chemical engineer has to face is the mass transfer and the kinetic parameters, these are not always valid for system or operating conditions. For this reason, the data must search in the open literature relating to the process under study and the operating conditions in which these parameters are valid. Unfortunately, there is no simpler alternative, such as exists for the thermodynamic equilibrium data which, for some reactions, the most studied ones, are available in the database and can be automatically added.
