Hi Zuriah,

To begin with I would suggest you to go through the attached comprehensive review article :

Molyneux RJ, Gardner DR, James LF, Colegate SM. Polyhydroxy alkaloids:

chromatographic analysis. J Chromatogr A. 2002 Aug 16;967(1):57-74. Review.

PubMed PMID: 12219930.

You may consider week cation exchange resin CM Sepharose CL-6B by a linear gradient of sodium chloride (0–1 M) in sodium acetate buffer (10 mM, pH 5).

For HPLC purification with IE-X column you can consider Dionex CS3 cation exchange column under isocratic condition using 10 mM HCl at a flow rate of 1ml/min as the mobile phase.
