Hello I want to express a protein recombinantly because nobody is selling the protein or the cDNA of it. I emailed a group twice who made this protein recombinantly back in 2005 but there is no response. The protein is from a plant species that is not native to the country where I am. I would love to start with extracting genomic DNA from plant tissue, but I wonder if it is prohibited to ship a foreign species across the border. Anyone has experience in this? Thank you.
Importation is an issue that can be informed by your local and national customs body
Is the DNA or amino acid sequence of the protein known? If so, just synthesize the gene.
It will truly depend on what the policy of your country is...
Pls collect the plant Sample, you can make it a meristem because of the mitotic activities there. If the sequence Is known good if not Blast in NCBI site for the sequence. Then synthesize the gene.
