I Want to add some axis (questions, items) to my organizational commitment survey, to know if employee commitment is the result of managers competency?
First topics of my design survey is based from TCM (Three-Component Model) Employee Commitment Survey, Academic Users Guide 2004, John P. Meyer and Natalie J. Allen, I want help to add some items to the survey to know if the employee commitment is the impact of managers competency?
I resume, I want two topics, one if there is commitment, second if it is by there managers
As I understand from your statement that you want to add and verify a fourth dimension to organizational commitment. I believe you may add or change the questions after the permission of the author and after that you can conduct a pilot study, apply the factor analysis, and then do the verification.
Apart from the established result, develop the questionnaire to explore the information whether employee commitment is result of managers competency. conduct the pilot survey and test your hypothesis.
I don't know until now what are kind of questions should I ask to employees to know if there commitment is from managers competency?

Why would you think there would be a relationship? And “competence” is a broad term. Competence in what?

Dwyer, because competency is a broad term, I think there is a relationship, like managing teamwork, There is influence for leaders in subordinates (employees), convincing them of the organization's goals, and even possible to create their commitment and loyalty, the employee needs an efficient leader, this is my opinion
You might start by looking into the relationship between expert power and the different dimensions of commitment that interest you. If there is a supported relationship, then consider expert power as a possible mediator and measure employees' perception of the manager's expert power.

"Expert" power, as in one of the six dimensions of power... it's the dimension of power based on the follower's perceptions of the leader's competence. Keep in mind that it's all about perception of competency, as the power is given by the follower and not by the organization. "Information" power is slightly different, but could be confused if not presented clearly. "Information power" is the possession of information that other's want or need, and is bestowed upon them by their position/title; this might relate more to Information Justice (a dimension of Organizational justice).

What do you mean by "my organizational commitment survey"? You are creating a new one?
I truly believe that the commitment can be positively influenced by managers competency. Maybe you can check transformational leadership style surveys and analyze the questions from there, those will give you a hint.
