We investigated the prepared magnetite graphene oxide using Raman spectroscopy and observed both D and G vibrations, the vibration occurred at 1589 cm-1 and D vibration observed at 1338 cm-1. (below figure). I want to know that i obtained magnetite graphene oxide has good structure or not some. Also if D band value grater then G band, have good structure for GO.
Also, the intensity ratio of ID/ IG is 1.17 for MGO.
The high intensity ratio ID/IG indicates high defect concentration in the structure. Also, there is a large shift in the G peak towards the higher wavenumber, tells that structure is under high compressive stress.
Regarding the structure, good or bad, you need to look other properties of MGO.
For GO, rGO and other amorphos-like carbon materials D band is not signature of defects, but rather concentration of carbon rings.
And so higher D band means better structure. But generaly own Raman spectroscopy of Go and rGO without other methods like XPS or FTIR in my opinion is not a good idea.
