The plant part if dried completely then there are very little chance to survive any endophytes. Generally they survive 6-12 hours after detachment from the mother plant. If you get any organism from the dried plant part, generally they may be phyllospheric or spoilage organisms.
Please kindly refer to the attached manuscripts. It is most likely that the plant portion referred to as the stem is inclusive of the bark. However, you could probably write to the corresponding authors and clear out any doubts. Rgds

Thank you sir.i have got a bacteria from the bark.has there been any bacteria isolated till now from the bark? Because whatever research work I have read about endophytes from coffee I have not come across any bacteria isolated from the bark.
