A point doesn't have a moment of inertia, just inertia (described by its mass). Extended objects have moments of inertia. The Dirac equation describes points, not extended objects.
The response of a particle, described by the Dirac equation, to external moments of force, is in all the textbooks. There's no point in analogies, when the true calculations are known.
In classical mechanics, spin angular momentum of an extended object is I w, where I and w are the moment of inertia and angular speed, respectively. If you want an operator corresponding to moment of inertia in Dirac theory that eventually finds application in string theory (since strings are extended objects), you need to use the alpha matrices and not beta, since spin operator in Dirac representation is obtained from the alpha matrices.
