This is correct when you look at any ore mineralization from the micro- to the macroscale. Even a Li soft ore mineralization (brines, salars) are tectonically driven when considered on a basinal scale. But only a certain-type or a combination of certain types of tectonic upgrade a mineralization to an economic ore mineral deposit. Otherwise we would not need to explore and look for abnormally enriched element concentrations. This aspect comes close to what might be called geo-philososphy on the opposite side of applied geogeosciences.
